To prove they are real he slices a small piece of paper. He next takes a length of floss from the box and begins to ingest it - showing he has indeed swallowed it by opening his mouth. Finally he places the three blades into his mouth apparently swallowing them as well. After a few moments he produces the 3 blades threaded onto the floss from his unharmed mouth.

I've never seen this particular version of the famous razor-swallowing trick done close up, so I gladly took a look. Overall, I was pretty pleased with it - whenever I go out and perform it people have by and large given a fantastic reaction. However, if I'm doing walk-around and there's no table, it IS a little awkward finding a place to put the blades after demonstrating they're sharp; I don't like Dan's advice of putting the blades in a spectator's hands. Don't let that deter you from making a purchase, though. Presented properly, you'll have the audience screaming at one moment, then gaping in shock and awe the next, even when you're in no real danger at all.
Also, please consider your audience when you do this; this is obviously not something you perform for children. 1 of 2 magicians found this helpful. Neither is it as convincing as the needles as you can't show your mouth after the blades are put into it. Whatever reactions you might get are more just because you put razors into your mouth, not so much that they were convinced you swallowed them.
